Viewpoint Vista vs Foundation Software
Both are construction-specific ERPs built around job cost and construction payroll. The real difference is scale and implementation weight.
| Trimble Viewpoint Vista | Foundation Software | |
|---|---|---|
| Positioning | Deep, highly configurable construction ERP for mid-to-large contractors | Construction-specific accounting and payroll focused on the mid-market |
| Typical revenue fit (our view) | $50M–$500M+ | $5M–$250M |
| Implementation | Heavier: plan for a structured project with internal champions and partner or vendor help | Generally lighter, pragmatic rollout |
| Pricing | Not public | Not public |
Our take
If you are above roughly $150M with multiple divisions and complex reporting needs, Vista’s depth tends to justify the heavier rollout. Between about $20M and $150M, Foundation is often the pragmatic choice. Either way, ask both vendors for references at your trade and revenue band and price the full three-year cost.
